Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner – APNP

Job Description

An Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner will help with all aspects of patient care, including diagnosis, treatments and consultations. They will work in both clinical and ASC outpatient situations and can perform independently or as part of a treatment team.

Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioners perform the important task of educating patients about preventative care and prescribed treatments. They may conduct physicals, order tests and interpret test results. APNP’s serve as a patient's primary healthcare provider. They can prescribe medications and will collaborate with the physicians in the health care of patients with chronic and acute pain conditions.

Job Description

Pain management nurses are responsible for the care of patients with chronic or acute pain. Once they have assessed a patient's pain, they work closely with doctors and other nurses to create a treatment plan. Job Description

  • Responding to request for medical records and billing information. These requests will come from:
    • Attorneys - including request for certified medical records
    • Disability Bureaus
    • Health Networks - CMS, United Healthcare, Optum, Ciox, etc.
    • State Government offices
    • Outside medical providers
    • Insurance Companies
    • Request can be received via fax, phone, email or US Mail.
  • Responding to request from patients for their own medical records. (ROI)
    • For themselves
    • For another provider or their PCP
    • For their insurance company
    • For a worker’s compensation or disability insurance claim
  • Responding to request from our own providers
    • Office visits records
    • Radiology reports
    • Urgent request for records from another providers office

  • Chart Prep
    • Preparation of charts for all providers for patient appointments/procedures to include notes, as well as imaging.
      • Prepare a daily list of charts to be prepped. List to include NP/PA visits and procedures. List to include what documents were inserted into the record and check column to ensure chart completion.
      • Resources:
        • Healow first
        • Review patient record to find documentation of PT and Chiro visits. If found, contact the organization and request records.
        • If no documentation is found in record, contact patient to find out if PT/Chiro visit occurred and request provider name and date. Contact this provider to request records.
  • Transfer of Care request
    • Provide Continuity of Care to outside providers when requested.
  • Preparing Invoices and maintaining balance sheet for medical records billings
  • Review of email for medical records request, minimum every two hours
  • Retrieval of voicemails for medical records request. Twice daily or when alert light is indicating voicemail has been received.
  • Maintain a working list of medical record request as a log and use as follow up to ensure that all requests have been completed in a timely manner.

Nurse Practitioner – NP

Job Description

Patient Care Coordinators are instrumental in helping patients receive great care with the attention and follow-up they need for optimal healthcare experiences. This requires a flexible attitude, quick thinking and a caring disposition.

Position Summary

This position is responsible for triaging calls to various departments. Answers all incoming calls, provide pertinent information to the caller and transfers the call to the appropriate source if requested. Will occasionally help scheduling if needed as well as scheduling appointments.

Registered Nurse Patient Coordinator

Job Description

RN-Patient Coordinator works with medical staff throughout all PPWhealth clinics and ASC’s pertaining to acute and chronic pain management of patients. Provides formal and informal education for medical staff regarding intravenous and epidural patient-controlled analgesia. Provides formal and informal education for anesthesia residents regarding intravenous and epidural patient-controlled analgesia. Ensures adequate and safe administration of intravenous and epidural patient-controlled analgesia through on-going quality improvement studies.

Maintains patient records in the out-patient pain management center facilities. Ensures that updated information regarding out-patient chronic pain patients is regularly reported back to the patient's referring physician. Patient and family education regarding out-patient chronic pain management procedures. Conducts telephone follow-up of patients who had out-patient pain management procedures to ensure patient satisfaction. Completes and reports statistics within the facilities. Responsible for performing all other duties as assigned.

Surgical Tech and Scrub Tech

Job Description

Surgical techs / Scrub Techs have specific tasks before, during and after surgery in outpatient procedures. These duties may include preparing the surgical space, handling instruments to the surgeon, moving the patient to a recovery area and clearing the operating room for the next case.

This role begins before the surgery starts and ends after it is done. They are essential members of the surgical team. In addition to the duties listed above, surgical techs / scrub techs may also count supplies, such as sponges and instruments. One of the most important duties is to maintain a sterile environment.

Job Description

Triage Pain Management staff work as members of multidisciplinary teams to help patients who suffer from chronic pain maximize their quality of life. They serve as patient advocates to obtain pain medications. They may work as liaisons with vocational programs to assist patients who suffer with pain issues return to work. Licensed X-Ray Tech to Work with C- Arm Fluoroscopy Interventional Radiology Tech, the fluoroscopy technician assists the physician with interventional pain management procedures, scheduling, prep instructions, supply management, and patient recovery. Working knowledge of interventional equipment (including C-Arm and Radiology/X-ray equipment), procedures and materials/supplies needed for each procedure. Knowledge of sterile techniques.
